Light One Candle
by Solly Ganor
Beginning in pre-war Lithuania, Light One Candle traces the multiple paths of Holocaust survivor Solly Ganor’s life. His harrowing story includes his chance encounter with Japanese consul Chiune Sugihara, who saved thousands of Jewish lives by issuing exit visas, his life in the Kovno ghetto, and his survival of Lager 10 of the Kaufering, a subcamp system of Dachau. It culminates with Ganor’s struggle for survival on the Dachau death march and his subsequent liberation by former Heart Mountain incarceree Clarence Matsumura. This new edition features a new foreword by veteran museum curator Eric Saul and an afterword by Shirley Ann Higuchi.
